Acoustic tape
for drywall systems

R-FOLL presents an acoustic tape for gypsum drywall systems. It is used to insulate joints between perimeter sections and the building structure in wall and suspended ceiling systems.

Application

Acoustic tape for insulating joints between perimeter sections and the building structure in wall and suspended ceiling systems.

The tape has sound-proofing and vibration damping properties. The tape is vapour- and air tight. It is applied
onto the surface of CW and UW sections and hangers at contact areas with the substrate.

Materials

Polyethylene foam

Applications

Drywall systems

Foam advantages:

  • Damping vibrations transmitted from the structure to the substrate
  • Low air permeability
  • Very good thermal insulating properties
  • High chemical resistance
  • Very low water absorbability
  • Ageing resistance
  • Thermal resistance: (-40 °C) to (+ 90 °C)
  • Easy and quick installation, place of application remains clean due to the lack of a paper interlayer.

Installation procedure

  • Clean dust and other contaminants from the surface
  • Choose the appropriate tape width according to CW, UW sections
  • Apply the sealing tape onto the section at contact areas with the substrate so that the entire surface of the tape covers the section surface
  • Attach the sections to the building structure.

NOTE! Tape installation at a temperature above +5°C
